It’s surprisingly hard to fit a story in 10-12 panels. I was kinda unsure about taking a storyboarding class because the prerequisites sounded so high level but I feel like I’ve already learned some really useful tidbits, like the idea that sometimes when filmmakers cut around a ton during a scene, it can be due to fear that it’ll be too “boring” if characters are just talking.
Personally, I’ve felt similar fear myself, and now that I think about it, I believe a lot of it is due to lack of confidence. “The audience won’t want to see X scene, so I need to hurry and show Y scene!”
But pretty much anything can be compelling with the right treatment. I also didn’t expect to see parallels between storyboarding and fashion lol!
